Wanna Throwdown? Get In Line.

Line dancing is having a moment. Boots are back. Denim is doing overtime. And dance floors everywhere are rediscovering the joy of a routine everyone can join.

It makes perfect sense to us. Line dancing and Tex-Mex have always shared a border, and a certain attitude. Both were made where Texas meets Mexico. Both bring people together. And both are much better with a little heat and something cold in your hand.

Every Thursday until 20th August, El Camino Cantina South Bank and Surfers Paradise is turning up the country for Throwdown Thursday.

Learn the moves. Join the line. 

Never line-danced? Even better.

Our line dancers will lead the way, teach you the steps and pull the whole room onto the dance floor as the night unfolds. There’s no experience required and no expectation that you’ll know left from right after your second margarita.

Just follow the boots in front of you.

Dress for the occasion 

Throwdown Thursday calls for denim, boots, fringe and a generous interpretation of the word “cowboy”.

Go subtle. Go full rhinestone rodeo. Be the best dressed in the west. Prizes are up for grabs, so this is not the night to leave the hat at home.

Make a night of it 

Line dancing works up an appetite. Fortunately, tacos, sizzling fajitas and margaritas are never too far from the dance floor.

Round up your crew, order for the table and fuel up between routines. You may arrive for dinner. You may leave with an eight-count permanently imprinted on your brain.
